Our government institutions are failing us. Our politics are failing us. Our so called leaders keep acting in direct opposition to the popular will. On issue after issue commanding majorities want one thing while government seems determined to give us the opposite.
Whatever culture war nonsense they want us to believe, the root cause of the collapse of our democratic republic is money. Very rich people have seized the reigns of power, and installed an empty suit who is malleable and transactional.
Many of Trumps latest moves seem inexplicable. Some are truly baffling, like exiting the WHO or hobbling the NIH, until you view it through the lens of money. Behind every project 2025 abomination lies a wealthy patron who will profit handsomely from disabling or defeating existing law. Polluters , con artists, opioid manufacturers, care only about getting richer, and they don’t care who gets hurt in the process.
They love money more than they love their fellow humans. Let us stop pretending that there are competing ideologies at work. Both parties are awash in cash from billionaires. It really doesn’t matter what color the bus they’ve thrown us under is.
Moving forward, no one should report on Trumps latest nightmare without determining who will benefit financially. This is not a revolution, it’s a fire sale.
