Ok...it has not even been a whole week and the Trump plan is increasingly obvious.
Almost every move Trump has made in his shock and awe campaign of executive orders is about weakening FEDERAL power. That is why he is actively degrading and destroying federal agencies such as the NIH, FEMA. Those are agencies that work for the COMMON good of all states. They serve to unite us as a people because it organizes us to work together to solve problems. In the mind of Trump and the oligarchs, they have enough power and money that they are insulated against any problem. They can hire their own private fire companies and police protection, and of course buying food, housing or medical care is simply not a problem if you are rich.
Along with doing away entirely with the agencies named above, he is of course, actively reshaping and destroying the stated missions of the DOJ and FBI by turning them into tools of political power and revenge. Not only does that serve him personally, it also serves to further confuse and divide the nation.
it is all about divide and conquer. He stokes division between the states such as actively promoting hatred against California with culture war issues and outright lies. There are no doubt umpteen other examples but my point is clear. He WANTS to divide us and while doing so hamper any kind of cooperation between states.
I see many of my fellow Californians responding to his protection racket demands in order to secure federal aid for fire recovery with demands that we Californians withhold much of the money that we pay to the federal government. After all, the argument goes, we in effect subsidize many red states because we contribute far more than we get back, while the red states are net “Takers’ from the federal budget. While this would be emotionally satisfying for California, it ultimately plays into his hands because it weakens the federal government and is a precedent for only partial participation by states in the UNITED federal government.
Why would he do this? I propose that it is far easier for corrupt oligarchs to wield power and influence in smaller areas such as states because we the people are far weaker in smaller numbers. He doesn’t giver a rat’s ass about his “Legacy” or any damage he leaves in his wake. He just wants to accrue and wield power as efficiently as possible and that means eliminating any sense of unity amongst his victims.
