Thank you Judge Mehta! I love that it's the Court that decides on permission. FIDJT will not be pleased.

x JUST IN: Judge MEHTA has barred Stewart Rhodes and other Oath Keepers whose sentences were *commuted* from going into Washinton or the U.S. Capitol without permission from the court.

And thank you Judge Coughenour. Who was appointed by Ronald Reagan btw...

x “Frankly, I have difficulty understanding how a member of the Bar could state unequivocally that this is a constitutional order,” the judge said of Trump’s birthright citizenship executive order. “It just boggles my mind.” www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

Here's the story. Hegseth told senator he paid $50,000 to woman who accused him of 2017 sex assault. apnews.com/…

WASHINGTON (AP) — Pete Hegseth, President Donald Trump’s nominee for defense secretary, paid $50,000 to the woman who accused him of sexual assault in 2017, according to answers he provided to a senator during his confirmation process that The Associated Press has obtained. The written answers were provided to Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren in response to additional questions she had for Hegseth as part of the vetting process. His attorney, Timothy Parlatore, declined to comment Thursday on the dollar figure, which was previously unknown. In November, Parlatore confirmed that the settlement payment had been made, and Hegseth told senators during his confirmation hearing last week that he was “falsely accused” and completely cleared. News of the payment came as the Senate advanced Hegseth’s nomination along party lines, with a final vote on his confirmation expected Friday. Democrats — and two Republicans — have raised concerns about Hegseth, who also has faced allegations of excessive drinking and abuse of his second wife, which he denies.

FIDJT Inc. Is trying to walk back it's Anti-DEI plans at the VA.

x Make no mistake: this is not enough! We need a FULL exemption for all VA positions, so they can hire the people they need NOW. And we won’t rest till they get it. 1/4 www.military.com/daily-news/2...

From the attached article. VA Declares 300,000 Health Care Jobs Exempt from Ordered Freeze on Federal Hiring. www.military.com/…

More than 300,000 Department of Veterans Affairs health care jobs are exempt from a federal hiring freeze instituted Jan. 20 by President Donald Trump. Acting Veterans Affairs Secretary Todd Hunter issued a memo Jan. 21 containing instructions for the department to comply with Trump's executive order, issued shortly after he was sworn into office. Trump's order did not list any exemptions, but in his memo, Hunter said positions critical to delivering health care to veterans were an exception, and those considered essential for providing benefits like disability compensation could be considered protected if deemed necessary by the federal Office of Personnel Management. Hunter listed 39 exempt positions, representing more than 304,000 jobs. "Positions critical to delivering care to veterans in the Veteran[s] Health Administration ... are exempted under the category of public safety," Hunter wrote in the memo obtained by Military.com.

x NEW: I'm hearing from some federal workers that - at least at the VA - RNs, LPNs, and NA's that were offered a job that had been rescinded, are being re-offered their jobs over the next one to two days. DM me if you receive a rescission of the rescission. The pushback is WORKING. Thank you to all! — Mueller, She Wrote (@muellershewrote.bsky.social) January 23, 2025 at 1:25 PM

This makes me so sad on so many levels. MAYOR RAS J. BARAKA’S STATEMENT ON ICE RAID ON NEWARK BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT. www.newarknj.gov/…

“Today, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents raided a local establishment in the City of Newark, detaining undocumented residents as well as citizens, without producing a warrant. One of the detainees is a U.S. military veteran who suffered the indignity of having the legitimacy of his military documentation questioned. This egregious act is in plain violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees ‘the right of the people be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures….’ “Newark will not stand by idly while people are being unlawfully terrorized. I will be holding a press conference in alliance with partners ready and willing to defend and protect civil and human rights. Details to come.”

Well, this is interesting. Aide to House Speaker Johnson advised against subpoena of Jan. 6 witness over concerns about ‘sexual texts’ from lawmakers.

An aide to House Speaker Mike Johnson advised Republican colleagues against subpoenaing former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson as part of their investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, attack in an effort to prevent the release of sexually explicit texts that lawmakers sent her, according to written correspondence reviewed by The Washington Post and a person familiar with the effort. The aide intervened last June, citing concerns that a subpoena could expose the texts, according to the correspondence and the person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk candidly about private conversations. Johnson revived the investigation this week as part of an effort by President Donald Trump and his allies to seek retribution against perceived political enemies, including those who investigated his role in the Capitol attack. ✂️ Loudermilk had publicly floated the idea of issuing a subpoena to Hutchinson, who was elevated to national prominence in an explosive 2022 hearing where she testified that Trump had wanted an armed mob to march to the Capitol on Jan. 6 — and that he wanted to join them. Before that meeting, a Johnson aide told Loudermilk’s staff that multiple colleagues had raised concerns with the speaker’s office about the potential for public disclosure of “sexual texts from members who were trying to engage in sexual favors” with Hutchinson, according to correspondence produced at the time that detailed the conversation. Additionally, a member of Johnson’s staff told Loudermilk aides that Hutchinson, an aide to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, could “potentially reveal embarrassing information,” according to a separate email reviewed by The Post and corroborated by two additional people. Johnson echoed those sentiments on Thursday, telling reporters that “it didn’t make sense to give her any more attention, she had already testified, and it was a bit of a debacle.”
