Hello,
I would like to introduce myself and announce my campaign. I consider myself a self made woman. I grew up in California in extreme poverty. As a child, I lived in a tent with my parents and siblings. I grew up knowing about Food Stamps and food banks. I know what it's like to ration food and buy everything second hand.
I moved to Lynchburg, VA 10 years ago to better my future with education. I attended Liberty University as I had considered myself conservative christian. However, the more I grew as a person, the more I realized I did not align with those beliefs. I have spent years self reflecting as well as listening to all walks of life.
With this growth, I have become passionate about improving the lives of everyone I can. By running for State Delegate, I hope to further protect the people of Virginia. The quality of homes people rent is long over due for regulations. Landlords cannot be trusted to self regulate. Workers' Rights have long since been trampled on by corporations. Profit over people have decimated our economy. Discrimination is protected through "right to work" laws.
Furthermore, this administration continues to push back against the rights of minority groups. We have only seen the beginning of the next 4 years. We have to fight before it's to late.
