Trump announces Department of Geographic Name Education [1]

President Trump has announced the formation of the Department of Geographic Name Education. This is in response to apparent confusion due to his renaming of the Gulf of America. Agents Representatives of DOGNE (not to be confused with the Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE) will conduct unscheduled raids inspections in schools and map publishers to ensure proper compliance/education is established. Updated maps may be purchased from Trump/McNally. Questions may be addressed to the Office of Government Dis Information.
Clearly, the above is satire. It was prompted when my wife asked rhetorically how Trump expected to enforce calling the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.” The sad thing is that it’s Trump’s proclamation that sounds like satire. It should be a SNL cold open but instead it’s a potentially serious decree by a sitting President. Hillary Clinton went viral for laughing when he said it during his inaugural address and truly the whole country should be busting a gut but this may be only the beginning.
This is the guy who wants to reduce the size of government bureaucracy by adding a Department of Government Efficiency and an External Revenue Service. Who wants to reduce prices by adding tariffs. Who wants to achieve energy independence by cutting out solar and wind. Who thinks it’s okay to raid churches to capture undocumented immigrants. Who thinks being POTUS is a way to enrich himself. Who “corrected” a weather map rather than admit he might be misinformed. Would you really put the Department of Geographic Name Education or Trump/McNally maps past him? I wouldn’t.
