Leonard Peltier Granted Clemency [1]

In what looks like President Biden made a very last minute order. He announced that he is commuting the sentence from life imprisonment to home confinement. Huffpost article here
The statement read in part:
“He is now 80 years old, suffers from severe health ailments, and has spent the majority of his life (nearly half a century) in prison. This commutation will enable Mr. Peltier to spend his remaining days in home confinement but will not pardon him for his underlying crimes,”
Of course, with the transition going on in the White House, the website is down so I can’t find the actual order.

There were a flurry of pardons for Biden family, Dr. Fauci, Liz Cheney and General Milley that were more preemptive. But this one I had all but given up hope. It may have been the last thing Biden did as president and I’m grateful.
