Just gimme some truth [1]

For what it’s worth, here is my stake in the ground.
My definition of democrat. We hold that each person is free and has individual rights that cannot be taken away, regardless of right wing attempts at control us. We support and will defend constitutional democracy, the non-weaponized rule of law, and free elections. We want to live in peace as we choose. We believe in nonviolence for our society and peaceful prosperity for all. We also reject the ongoing attempt to control us and the open marketplace of ideas.
We are faced with perilous times. While we can hope for the best, we must prepare for the worst. And the worst imaginable appears to be a carefully planned destruction of american constitutional democracy.
If true, the enemies of american constitutional democracy have revealed themselves. they are the christian nationalists, also known as gilead religious overlords set on a death march to armageddon; their tricked and manipulated worshipers; the super rich oligarchs; violence in the form of fascism; a propaganda machine; and the anti-government,synthetic rino party. They are all squanderers of american wealth, strength, reputation, and leadership.
If we are going to come out the other side of trump, we need to be actively organized,engaged and building the type of sustainable world we want to live in the future. If we stand by, they will implement their plans and we will continue to be reactive, sucker punched, rolled, and marginalized.
From my perspective, we seem to have only a part time democratic party. I only see them one year in four or maybe two, when it’s election time and they need money from me. What we need is a citizen’s wing of the democrat party to be working the rest of the time, working on building and promoting our vision of society in and among the community.
The following is what I think we can do to help us get organized. If this already exists and it’s just me in the dark, it’s better to leverage something that already exists rather than start from scratch. What we need is better technology and new centers of power on our side to help us and protect us. The first would be three new, free apps provided by this new citizen’s wing.
For the first app, we need a free, real-time fact checker that can be used at any time, including streaming. One of the opposition’s great strengths is their ability to plausibly lie and get millions to believe them by endlessly repeating the debunked lies. Imagine using it in a conversation, or in a fact-checking, political debate with a couple color dials that stream and go from red to green based on the speaker’s truth.
The second app is a way to protect and mobilize in realtime during emergencies. If there is a nazi march, this application notifies everyone in a 30-minute range to have people flood the area. If there is an illegal raid or arrest operation, we notify everyone in a 5-minute range to flood thearea. We make it difficult for every single public action to go uncontested. This can be implemented by using a pubsub app on the cell. Each person would have two channels, one to send out requests, and one to receive requests. There would be a set of topics that you sign up to get the notifications. The topics would include emergency response among others. The purpose of the app is clear, we need a way to protect ourselves and each other when push comes to shove and the police state appears. Of course we need strong controls and vetting to insure the app is not hacked and flooded with false events. So in the end, we may actually need our own first responders.
The third app is away to organize and coordinate on projects that can link into other initiatives. We have much to do, and people have different approaches and ideas and plans. This would be a place to collaborate and experiment and share with a much larger group. We need to be constantly working on hundreds of different projects as the right has been doing for decades. This is the way we identify, coordinate, and build the future and the future economy that we want. People need a way to find, join, and participate in these projects. By extending the protection app described above, we can add projects. We need an incubator to foster and grow new ideas.
In this new conflict where the old order has been overthrown (the old GOP is dead and gone, good riddance to it), we need to get back to basics and understand and build up our strengths.
First, here are what I would consider the right’s strengths: faith and church community,single voice, propaganda and lies, the oligarchy and religion’s big money, the attention and momentum, militias and violence, state and politicized governments, rural and country, the primary voters that pick the most right wing candidate, the judiciary, and the long-term, strategic anti-democracy plan that now seems to be unfolding.
Here is what I would consider our strengths: science and technology, facts and truth and honesty, europe and nato and our allies, culture and the arts, the legacy government, urban areas, education, health care, sex, freethinking (aka woke and liberal), boycotts and strikes and demonstrations. We have more raw and unrealized critical path power than they do.
Democrats have a love/hate relationship with corporations and coporations have been traditionally republican, but after the destruction of the GOP and decades of clinton corporate democrats, their allegiance should up for grabs. Of course, those at the top, the oligarchy, will try to bend corporations to the right. We must not let them. The old concept of ownership cannot be a cover for theft and corruption andillegality.
We have a unique opportunity. We have often attempted to influence corporations, and our big weapons have been labor strikes and consumer boycotts. But they are not coordinated together so there is no synergy between them, and each has to win or lose on their own. We need a more coordinated approach. But we also need a third leg to apply a different type of pressure at the same time at a different level of the corporation. There is a possible approach that doesn’t exist currently.
Times have changed. We should understand that democrats have become the managerial ranks of corporations. We now run the businesses, not legacy republicans. In the past, the managers would close ranks to fend off boycotts and strikes. But now democrat managers don’t have to be the corporate patsy.
Let’s consider the creation of a new, single, nantion-wide “managers union”. It’s purpose, at least to start, would be to get corporations to just sign on to our new declaration of rights that includes peaceful transfer of power, free and fair elections, the rule of law, a non-politicized government, and american constitutional democraccy. What corporation would not sign up for that?
If they don’t signup and provide support, then a targeted and coordinated strike, boycott and managerial sickout could bring together the three tools to influence the corporation. After all, if we represent the lion’s share of individual consumption, corporations should want to be on our side. Most corporations want to sell to everyone and prefers peace and a functioning society, not a schismed country with corruption and criminality run amok. Let’s get our clinton corporate democrats to finally deliver on their decades of building corporate relationships. If they can’t come through for us now, it’s time to jettison them and clean house.
The manager’s act would be a manager’s sickout. Coordinated with strikes and boycotts, this could force the corporations to acknowledge how much damage we could inflict on them and get them to respond to our needs. If you’re not on our side, we’re not on your side and we escalate. I recommend the first target to be Tesla. It’s a win-win for us if coordinated properly. If progressives stop buying tesla, the company could collapse and a dangerous oligarch weakened. If instead, the right buys tesla vehicles, then we’ve electrified a very difficult market to penetrate, one that has been armed and fortified against the progressive fight against global burning.
The next steps would be for interested parties with some required skill sets to start making plans and to find some funding.
