Although the task before us of thwarting the Orange Menace cannot be overstated, humor is one of the things essential to preserving a free people. Mocking is a tool against authoritarians, especially thin-skinned ones. As Mark Twain once said, “Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand.”
As both an award-winning artist and with traditionally published novels and short stories, though unknown and basically poor, creative crazy projects are about all I can offer the resistance as I stay under the radar to keep my day jobs in a very red state. My first offering is above – a new seal for the POTUS. It depicts what will be left of our national bird once the Convicted Felon’s Emperorship and his oligarchy crew get through with it. But it can also be a symbol of his weakness in a different version of “the emperor has no clothes.” Other diarists At Daily KOS have my permission to use it instead of his eye melting photos we are all sick of seeing. Was going to wait until inauguration day but decided to put it up now.
