My granddaughter has struggled with school. Right now she is a sophomore in high school.
She’s not happy curling up with a book. She has not discovered pleasure reading. Math is hard for her.
She assured me she could put together my office chair. She put together her mom’s chair. She was happy to report she can look at a parts list and instructions, and that is simple for her to read and understand. She took pride in that ability. She had it together in less than 15 minutes. Mostly struggling with the protective wrapping the individual parts were wrapped in.
I told her to go into the counselors office and take the parts list and the directions. Tell the counselor that understanding this was easy for her and to ask the counselor about an educational path. I don’t know if she can navigate that bureaucracy by herself, so I am asking for ideas and suggestions.
Although school is a struggle, this year she has discovered social life and that is triple easy for her. She misses school days when she is off on ‘vacation’ and only wants to talk on the phone.
So how about it? Any particular direction she should push?
Thanks.
