TSA checking IDs on domestic flights into DC [1]

I flew into DC yesterday from Oakland for the People’s March, and I had a brief layover in Denver. While waiting to board an announcement was made that everyone would need to have our IDs out prior to boarding so that TSA could check our IDs. I later found out that the reason for this was due to the upheaval four years ago on January 6th.

Clearly there is a law enforcement concern that people that are on the no fly list might be traveling to DC for the weekend. I hadn’t seen anything posted here yet and I just wanted to make people aware.

I did wonder if the tRumpers (proudly wearing swag) were even slightly cognizant of the reason for boarding delays.
