Saturday Top Comments: So Yeah, Monday [1]

So, Monday.
This Monday there’s some things happening. Yeah, the Polar Vortex in the Midwest. Then the day someone takes a solemn oath that he will never abide by. Also, it’s the Martin Luther King national holiday. Which brings me to a favorite activity on the day.

I like to call MLK day Republican Desperation Day. How so? Well, all the right wing propaganda outfits are desperate to deny their racism and what not. So they keep repeating one MLK quote, and totally get it wrong every time. You all know the one: “content of character”. They act as if that’s the only thing he ever said.
So I engage in trolling.
I’ll scroll social media, and if I see someone posting stuff like Republicans do, I hit them back with all the good stuff MLK said about police brutality, Universal Basic Income, the “moderate white person”, all that good stuff that made Republicans beat the commie drum so hard at him. I’ll play their own game and flood them with all that stuff until they back down.
Why do I do it? Catharsis for me. Also, who knows? They might actually learn something and actually listen to the person they hide behind to disguise their racism.
But, most of my day on Monday will be spent in some regular medical appointments. I have three scheduled, all routine follow ups. I’ll catch the blow by blow and the hot takes here later in the afternoon.
So in conclusion, that’s how I’ll be spending my Monday. As far away from the inauguration as I can manage. Let us commiserate in the comments.
