It’s gotten difficult to keep straight all the oil depots that have been hit and set on fire.

x Four russian oil depots are currently engulfed in flames. The depots in Engels and Liski continue to burn following earlier drone strikes, while those in the Kaluga and Tula regions were attacked overnight and are now also on fire

x ‼️🔥 Morning satellite images of the oil depot in Engels. The fire was extinguished, as a result of two strikes we have up to 8 burned-out fuel and lubricants tanks. This is approximately 14% of all tanks.

All you need is a bottle of gasoline and a lighter.

Another 1,340 Russians.

Not a good look for Scholz.

Baerbock later said she just didn’t see Scholz reaching out to her like that.

x German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock left the government meeting, refusing to be photographed with Chancellor Olaf Scholz after his decision to block the allocation of a new aid package for Ukraine, - Bild. Instead of a thousand words.

Here is an effort to explain what is going on in German politics:

x 1) What is it about? 👇

Basically, Germany's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, and Germany's Minister of Defence, Boris Pistorius, have teamed up to secure an additional budget of around €3 billion for aid to Ukraine before the upcoming elections in February. 2/14 — German Aid to Ukraine (@deaidua.org) January 18, 2025 at 7:25 AM

Work on this has already been underway for around two months. The funds are to be used to procure urgently needed military assistance, such as additional air defence systems, ammunition and self-propelled artillery systems. This should not only mean additional military support for Ukraine in the short and long term, but also send a political signal to Ukraine — “You can rely on us”. 2) What are the problems? 👇 There are multiple issues which make the situation really challenging. Germany is currently in a difficult political situation, the government coalition no longer has a majority in the Bundestag, the major parties are all in the middle of their election campaigns and to top it all off, a single party has a different approach on where to find these €3 billion. According to a SPIEGEL report, the Chancellery with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) initially blocked the package because he did not want to present the next government (whoever it will be) with a fait accompli. It is also reported that he did not see any urgent need for action as there are already €4 billion in military assistance secured and Ukraine can in addition rely on the G7 loan financed by the frozen Russian assets.

Zelenskyy is all out of fucks to give about Slovakia’s prime minister, Robert Fico.

x 😅🇺🇦🇸🇰 Zelensky responded to Fico's offer to meet in Davos with trolling. "You can't plan anything with the Slovak prime minister, because he can go to Davos and end up in Sochi." "We don't know who buys him tickets, because he constantly misses his destinations."

Russia killed several Ukrainians in attacks on Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia.

x You are looking at what was a church in Zaporizhzhia, until russian missile hit it today. This is for everyone who still thinks russia is some kind of protector of religion: russia really doesn’t care what to ruin next.

Russia also bombed downtown Kyiv.

This post says the McDonald’s staff was safe, but a security guard was among the dead.

x McDonald's was one of the first companies to leave russia at the start of the big war. They continue operating in Ukraine, and today their restaurant--the first in Kyiv, opened in 1997--was damaged by a russian missile attack. The staff is safe. When values are not empty words.

The Kyiv attack broke a water main and flooded streets.

x Russians attacked Kyiv this morning - three dead reported in Shevchenkivskyi district A water main broke at the site of the strike, windows were broken in buildings, and there is smoke in the entrance. Elements of the entrance to the Lukyanivska metro station were also damaged

Ukrainian soldiers near Pokrovsk are not happy that their commander has been replaced.

Soldiers of Ukraine's 48th Separate Assault Battalion spoke out against the replacement of their commander Lenur Islyamov in a video address to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi published on Jan. 18. The battalion is currently based in the town of Pokrovsk, a crucial logistics hub for Ukrainian forces that has been the focus of fierce fighting as Russia intensifies its offensive in Donetsk Oblast. According to the soldiers, they were deployed there 10 days ago after almost a year spent defending another hot spot in the region. Following the redeployment, the battalion learned that Isyamov had been replaced by another commander. "Changing the commander at a critical moment is a direct threat to the unit's combat capability and undermines the trust of the fighters," the statement read.

Either a Russian commander decided to get rid of his wounded or Russia has reached the bottom of the barrel when it comes to transportation to the front.

WARNING: Video shows Russians getting killed by drone-dropped grenades.

It’s like kids in a candy store.

x russian war criminals in Kurakhove are sticking to their 'traditions.' This time, their loot includes parquet floors and toilets. Apparently, the 'special operation' just doesn’t work without them. Maybe the Kremlin has developed a new kind of weapon: parquet battalions and sanitary artillery

Sounds like paradise.

Naturally, it’s America’s fault that Rabocheostrovsk has so many idle, drunk and delusional folks.

x Rabocheostrovsk, Republic of Karelia. Residents say there is no work, all young people drink, and the authorities are in no hurry to build any enterprises. However, the woman in the video thinks that America is to blame for all this. This is what many Russians feel, actually.

Russian drones crossed over into Romania.

x The first footage has emerged online showing a russian drone that crashed in Tulcea County, Romania, following an attack near the border on Kiliya, Ukraine. In response to the russian attack, Romania deployed its fighter jets overnight.

Putin should remain afraid because sooner or later Ukraine will develop its own nuclear weapons.

x 🇺🇸🇺🇦☢️ President Biden shared details of one of his conversations with Putin. As it turned out, the Russian dictator was very afraid that Ukraine would have new nuclear weapons, because then "missiles would fly to Moscow tomorrow."

A Russian official explains in this video to Russians who fled the town of Sudzha in Ukrainian-occupied Kursk that they are not actually homeless and if they don’t quit belly-aching, he’ll throw them in jail.

And Ukraine exposed a network of Ukrainians acting on behalf of Russia.

Roman Ryzhkov, a resident of the FSB, who is also an active engineer of the Kyiv Metro, was recruited in 2015 in Moscow and "mothballed". During the full-scale invasion, he was ordered to create an agent network to collect data on the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ryzhkov recruited as accomplices a mobilized Kharkiv resident who had previously worked for Ukrzaliznytsia for 10 years and could provide information on the movement of military echelons of the Armed Forces, as well as an international road transport driver.

The traitor Ryzhkov also personally guided Russian missiles at Kyiv. The SBU detained the defendants and they face 8 years to life in prison with confiscation of property.

You can tell it was made in the 50s because of the fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror.

Only the latest and best equipment for the boys at the front.

Fighting is still going on at Vovchansk.

The surviving Russians dismounted & attacked a building where Ukrainian soldiers had established their defense. Ukrainian forces called for backup & engaged in a battle that lasted about 3 hours. With support the paratroopers cleared the building and captured six occupiers.

x Defenders of Ukraine’s 71st Brigade halted a Russian assault in the Vovchansk direction. The enemy attempted to break through using armored vehicles, but one paratrooper disabled an MT-LB with a single-use grenade launcher.

Should have stayed home.

x Retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Tax Police Service, Captain Фоменко Александр Борисович (Fomenko Alexander Borisovich), nickname “Grandpa”, deputy commander of a tank battalion for armaments, was eliminated on 10 January ’25.

Rest in peace.

x This is Iryna, 22 years old. She died in a hospital overnight following the Russian missile strike on Kryvyi Rih. Initially Iryna survived the first explosion at her workplace, an educational institution. Then Russians struck again and killed Iryna, her cousin Oleksii (20), and his grandmother

x ⚡️24-year-old Belarusian volunteer soldier killed in action near Bakhmut. Maria Zaitseva joined the Ukrainian army after the start of Russia's full-scale war and fought with the 2nd International Legion Battalion.

[image or embed] — The Kyiv Independent (@kyivindependent.com) January 18, 2025 at 4:44 AM

She turned 24 on Jan. 16, a day before she was killed by Russian forces. In August 2020, Zaitseva participated in the protests in Minsk against alleged presidential election fraud in Belarus. Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko claimed to have won elections by a landslide with 80% of the vote, provoking nationwide protests and a subsequent regime crackdown on dissent. During protests, fragments of a flash grenade severely injured Zaitseva's arm and head. Her photo from the protests with her face covered in blood went viral.

x Ukrainian military filmmaker and serviceman Ruslan Hanushchak died in combat. “I decided to enlist because I felt I could do something more for my people and my country. Here, on the frontline, I'm free. Free from the fear of death. Small things don't bother you. You understand that you might not
