Oh, be shrill, mine heart.

America’s next to the worst person in this world, a.k.a. Culprit #2, is the once and future ICE dude, Tom Homan. Recall that Trump described him as Nasty and that he liked it. According to NBC,

Tom Homan has been appointed as the "border czar" by Donald Trump, overseeing immigration and border security efforts, including plans for mass deportations and the potential use of family detention centers. He previously served as the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during the Trump administration.

One thing we should know, the vast majority of Trump’s sick shtick is little more than performance art. He throws tons of crap out into the fan, not caring where it lands. He just wants the splash, the reaction, and the media coverage. Rarely, if ever, does he follow through.

Translation: We have been lucky. So far. But . . . .

Homan, (63) a person born angry, made angrier over time, used to be a cop. As such, he swore an oath to follow and enforce the law and protect the constitution. Until Homan’s original appointment to his administration, Obama made several small mistakes during his presidency, and a couple of bigger ones. By far, the choice of Homan constitutes Obama’s most horrific one. Homan instituted and successfully sold the inhuman and corrupt idea that separating children from their families would be good and convince other people from approaching our borders.

Trump loved the horror he caused, and kept him on as ICE leader.

Calling him a monster is an insult to other innocent monsters.

He is planning to launch a Tuesday morning raid on Chicago, intending to round up immigrants from the streets, herding them into camps, then, if they survive, eventually expelling them from the country, without trial, hearings, proof or other basic rights and freedoms guaranteed by the US Constitution. He will probably target the North Lawndale area, a zone populated mostly by Hispanic (and some Chinese, Vietnamese, and Russian) folks. It is estimated that as many as 20% of the residents have no documents authorizing their presence here. (Crime rates in Lawndale are lower than many rural and residential areas in the South)

I am waiting for Homan’s (and probably Trimp’s) proposals and suggestions for the uniforms to be sported by his army of thugs and creeps, but I fully expect it to be in an exciting shade of Brown, much like those used after 1921 by Hitler’s Sturmabteilung. Thugs, dressed up in Jackboots, Brown uniforms, and weapons, led by his selected leaders, upon whom Trump will bestow and award row upon row of shiny gold plated medals, coming to Chicago just to scare, arrest, harass and create many, many more problems where few existed before.

His immediate plans raise some questions, such as, how and why will he round them up? Where will he store and warehouse those herded and captured? Where will he bury the ashes of the US Constitution he will deliberately destroy and set aflame?

His long term plans will probably cause nachtmares.

This Tuesday, 200 heavily armed storm troopers will be coming to Madison and Michigan avenues, then launching their petty, unnecessary little war. Armed, angry, and unwilling to even consider the humanity and needs of those they will push around, punish and worse. Being armed, they will respond to any protest or complaints with force.

Worst of all, the standard he intends to apply? A simple traffic ticket will constitute sufficient grounds to round people up and herd them into camps, camps which do not yet exist. Perhaps he will demand the use of the United Center, where the Bulls and Blackhawks embarrass themselves almost every evening. The problem is it is too comfy. The Center has running water, functioning lavatories, even dozens of cooking and food preparation centers (although I would not recommend the normal food offerings they vend during games), making it almost livable. Certainly more survivable, especially in the dead of a Chicago winter. There are even ER and medical facilities of a sort, used by players and spectators.

Worst of all, it is heated and has electricity!

Other choices? White Sox Park, Soldier Field, Grant Park’s underground parking lot, and the McCormick Place complexes. Perhaps massive tents and open ditches in lieu of bathrooms in Lincoln Park or Grant Park. I suspect Marquette Park is too close to several Hispanic centers, whose residents probably will object to being treated like potential cattle.

Both he (Homan) and Trump have already threatened Chicago’s current mayor and other leaders. If they dare to stand up to this attack, this illegal invasion and unconstitutional herding horror show, they will also be rounded up by Homan’s storm troopers.

Perhaps this is Trump’s effort to recreate the Chicago Stockyards, once the meat packing center of the world. Except, those stockyard creatures were considered money on hoof, ie, valuable while alive and healthy. Ergo, the cattle were housed and fed for a bit. I doubt if Homan or Trump will offer such minimal services, not without a court fight(s).

I await the arrival of Tuesday in my Windy City with trepidation, a sense of doom, and an expectation that things will go south, and quickly. I suspect I would react badly myself, if an armed thug were to rip my baby girl or boy out of my arms just because. I suspect the stormtroopers have orders to be rough while manhandling their targets.

I wonder just how they will spot illegal immigrants as compared to so many different nationalities living, working, breeding and otherwise thriving in this city.

As an aside, Tuesday’s forecast is

Tuesday appears to be exceptionally brisk, with forecasted highs of just 5 degrees, with overnight lows from Monday to Tuesday potentially dropping as low as -5 degrees, with wind chill values 10-15 degrees colder.

Ahhh. Winter in Chicago. Perfect weather for torturing innocents without charges, bond, hearings, or protecting their innate human rights. Perfect amusement for both a monster like Homan and his petty dictator wanna-be, Trump. Trump already promised to push coverage of Tuesday in various media outlets, so you can be sure some shitstorm will be on the menu. He just loves to outrage normal folk and will make sure it is newsworthy.

For a mere traffic ticket?

Go Cheney yourself, Tom Homan. I hope you catch a really nasty cold while visiting here. If we are lucky, there is a deadly flu bug here, and COVID still infects people every day.

Oh, and please make your visit a short one. Most of us really do not care for you or your ideas.
