Friday Night Beer Blog [1]

Hi beer fans, happy Friday and welcome to FNBB!

I’m going out tonight to see Railroad Earth so I won’t be around for the discussion.

One of my old favorite topics showed up in the news recently: Grand Theft Beer! You might remember coverage of the Guinness shortage in parts of the UK; not surprisingly, someone chose to re-distribute the shortage:

A truck carrying 400 50-litre kegs of the Irish stout – equivalent to 35,200 pints – disappeared from a depot in the Midlands in mid-December, the Guardian can reveal. It is understood the truck, whose contents were destined for pubs desperate for kegs of Guinness during the festive peak, was stolen from a logistics hub near Daventry, in Northamptonshire.

Happier holidays for some, though not for that beer distributor :(

I’m predicting that the Santa Cruz-area theater has some Santa Cruz-area beers for me to try.

What are you drinking? Anyone brewing?
