The exhibits in the Florida Aquarium are divided into a number of themed areas which are intended to illustrate the flow of a drop of rainwater, from freshwater stream to shallow seashore to offshore coral reefs.

One of these sections is “Shorelines”, which exhibits species that are found in shallow water close to shore. There are native Florida species as well as species from round the world.
