Do not blame the MAGA. Blame our shared misunderstanding and fix it.
Here is a diagram of the monetary system. The system is nothing like we have been taught. We are taught that taxes and debt fund the federal government.
We can see in the diagram that the Federal Reserve generates the money for bank loans and government spending. The money from both sources enter the economy. The money is returned to the Federal Reserve by loan payments, collection of taxes, and sell of securities (the US debt).
Almost all Americans incorrectly believe that taxes and debt fund the federal government, and that government spending generates inflation. The difference between the liberal voter and the MAGA is that the liberals believe that we should just take the money from the billionaires and mega-millionaires, and the MAGA do not. The MAGA do not trust the economic indicators of prosperity because their gut tells them that the liberal solution is evil.
The irony is that the liberals and MAGA want the same government services, but the MAGA will not accept the services, and the liberal cannot persuade them to accept the services because neither of them understand how the system actually works. This misunderstanding leads the MAGA to destroy government in fantasies that culminate with DOGE. The liberals must stop explaining that we all benefit from government services and actually explain the truth about how these services are funded.
