I will be watching the American Surrender Day ceremonies. Many will choose not to. [1]

I am not eager to punish myself. If this is the last gasp of American Democracy, I want to be there as a witness, as someone who has seen America strive to improve - to excel; only to see it be destroyed by don’t-give-a-damn corporate greed and indifferent Americans not wanting to take away time from the games on their phones to examine candidates’ and parties’ positions. Those eager to believe his lies, because those lies fit their vision of America, also deserve special recognition for her demise.

I intend to show my respect for all America has given to me. I will not turn away. I will look the evil entity in its eyes.

I believe I understand the position of those not eager to watch torture or an execution. We all have been through unimaginable trauma for many years with each day seeming like a millennia of ever-increasing torment. The agony increases with each new episode. But, with all the pain, past and yet to come, does America not deserve a sendoff of dignity and respect?

I expect our former-new leader will make an attempt to show that Democracy is happy abiding with him. He will endeavor to present an appearance of care and concern for her while holding her brutally and torturing her - or he may destroy her before our eyes to suit his whim of the moment in a tawdry attempt to show he is all-powerful. In the shadows, he will take everything for himself while we are looking in horror at his evil displays of dominance.

She deserves our witnessing her execution if it is to be so. She deserves that much from us. She gave us her all. Democracy gave us the rule of law for which Americans show no respect. She did not let us down. We let America down.

I intend to witness her demise and support her in her time of distress, even if no one will join me - if this is to be her demise.

If she does not die but is severely disabled, I want to bear witness to her recovery. I expect it will be long and arduous. I want to help. I hope others will join in the effort.

Repairing American Democracy will be grueling, demanding, and a grief-filled task. Many will suffer before repairs may begin and many will be hurt as repairs are accomplished. If Lady America survives, she will be forever scarred.

After a flood, a house will become rotten and need major reconstruction to rip out deep-seated mold and rot. Sometimes, the very foundation may need replacement. So will it be with American Democracy - if she survives January 20, 2025.

America sold its soul. On American Surrender Day, the mortgage holder will collect his due.

I had not intended to bring in the Bible but there are two quotes that I feel speak loudly to America’s plight.

Israel will Reap the Whirlwind

6 They are from Israel!

This calf—a metalworker has made it;

it is not God.

It will be broken in pieces,

that calf of Samaria.

7 “They sow the wind

and reap the whirlwind.

The stalk has no head;

it will produce no flour.

Were it to yield grain,

foreigners would swallow it up.

8 Israel is swallowed up;

now she is among the nations

like something no one wants.

Hosea 8:6-8.

No reward for hard work

38 You will sow much seed in the field but you will harvest little, because locusts will devour it. 39 You will plant vineyards and cultivate them but you will not drink the wine or gather the grapes, because worms will eat them. 40 You will have olive trees throughout your country but you will not use the oil, because the olives will drop off. 41 You will have sons and daughters but you will not keep them, because they will go into captivity. 42 Swarms of locusts will take over all your trees and the crops of your land.

Deuteronomy 28:38-42
