I Stand Corrected [1]

You’re never too old to completely scrap a well entrenched belief you have. Ironically it’s a bit of a gift when a set of circumstances arrives that bursts a balloon full of misconceptions that we have been operating out of, maybe our whole life. Its liberating in a way. The example I speak of is the election of Donald Trump. I was able to convince myself his previous election was a fluke, a perfect storm of unfortunate events that allowed someone like him to slip through the cracks.
Nothing in memory has been as revelatory on the topic of what drives basic human decision making than the elevation of someone like this to the high office of leader of the country given the full transparency surrounding the man, his stated agenda and criminal record. Everything I thought I knew, the reality I long accepted screamed this could never happen. I’m glad I was corrected and my delusional state around this abated.
