NC Supreme Court Blocks Certification of Democrat [1]

Back in November, when Democrats nationwide weren’t doing all that well, North Carolina was a bit of a bright spot. Despite narrowly losing the Presidential race, Democrats still swept all the statewide races, aided in no small part by MAGA Republicans selecting a “Black Nazi” to head their gubernatorial ticket.
One of those Democrats who managed to eke out a razor-thin win with a margin of just 734 votes was Allison Riggs who had been appointed to the NCSC by outgoing Democratic Governor, Roy cooper, and was now running to retain her seat against Republican Jefferson Griffin.
Griffin, being your typical Republican, obviously couldn’t accept defeat graciously, so after the mandatory recounts failed to change the outcome, he appealed his “case” to his fellow Republicans on the NCSC that they control by a 5-2 margin. The result was today’s ruling (on a party-line vote that Riggs understandably had to recuse herself from) blocking certification of her win. From NBC News:
