Yesterday I saw something that made me think it is over. My wife and I are leaving for Spain Wednesday to look at properties. When we get back we are probably going to go to work on getting our residence visas and be gone by June. Now on to the what I think is the final straw.
I went over to our closest Wally World to pick up a travel soap dish and a few minor incidentals for our trip. Since it was shortly after church let out WW was hopping. By the time I had found what I was looking for the crowd had cleared out and I chose an empty check out that had the light on. As I walked up the cashier was sitting on her rollator, looking at what I assume was a cheap, on line purchased, heart rate monitor of some sort. She looked like she was about to drop and I offered to go to another line so she could rest. She asked me to just let her rest for a bit and then forced herself to stand which took a good 45 seconds or more. What immediately went through my head was just how fucked up this country has become with the wealthy deciding that they don’t have enough and the general populace should only be employed so that they, the wealthy, can prosper. I have no idea how this elderly woman voted, or if she voted, but I can tell you that this county in MD bleeds red and voted just below 60% for the twittiot.
We will take a chance on another country because this one has lost its mind.
