The Things I Keep. [1]

I save newspapers (at least the front section) from historic events, and a couple for my kids, purchased on the day each was born. I have newspapers from 9/11, from President Obama's inauguration, from Arizona's late and inadequate Covid lockdown. So many newspapers, from so many states and cities.
I keep them so that I'll have a tangible memory of certain things, recorded as they happened. A day later at most, not months or years after the fact. So that my children will have those tangible memories. And maybe even their children, if that comes to pass.
Of all the things I choose to keep, the memories are most important.
Never, never forget.
Never let anyone tell you that you're remembering it wrong.
