Why The Dems Lost The Election, part 2 [1]

In part one of my argument for the reasons why the Dems lost the (presidential) election, I listed some, but not all, of the many flaws and bad decisions of Joe Biden. These included Biden’s selection of the very timid, overly cautious and fatally inept Merrick Garland as Attorney General — and Garland’s failure to make the prosecution of the former Reprobate-in-Chief an utmost priority. This failure allowed that criminal to get away with a number of absolutely treacherous crimes. In an interview on SiriusXM, attorney, former federal prosecutor and senior writer at POLITICO, Ankush Khadori called Garland’s mishandling of this prosecution “the greatest failure of federal law enforcement in American History.” The interviewer, attorney and legal analyst Elie Honig agreed wholeheartedly.

I cited other reasons, including Biden bringing into office, along with himself, the very real and unethical scandal of allowing his fuck up of a son to use his father’s name in order to receive money that Hunter didn’t deserve — with the expectation that Joe would return the favor. This was one of just the countless things that Joe did that not only gave Trump and his deplorables the ammunition to attack him with, but also, it gave them the opportunity to detract and distract from Trump’s many crimes and outrages.

There was also the fatal decision of Biden to run for a second term and for those around him to, not only allow this basket case to remain in office, but to try to hide his cognitive decline from the American people. What a disgraceful disservice to the Democratic Party and the American people. Trump was also terribly unfit for office, but at least there were some Republicans who wanted to use the 25th amendment to remove him from office and who later confirmed to the American people that everything we could observe about that miscreant wasn’t just an act, it was the real Donald Trump. Biden not only stubbornly refused to step aside and let someone better suited for beating Trump to take over — until it was too late — but he forced those who forced him out to accept Kamala for his replacement as the only condition under which he would agree to withdraw.

This article is devoted to Kamala’s role in the election loss.

The excitement that burst upon the campaign when Kamala took over disguised the fact that Kamala was an extremely flawed candidate. Here’s the proof: she was so flawed that she lost to an absolute scoundrel — Donald J. Trump — a pathological liar, a sociopath, a corrupt businessman, a sexual assaulter, a twice impeached reprobate, and a person who has incited violence numerous times, including the attack on the Capitol, which he incited by telling treacherous lies about massive voter fraud. On top of that, he’s also a “fucking moron.”

OK, so what are these flaws that are so bad that it caused her to lose to the orange hued Miscreant Menace? This is going to take a while, so I’m hoping you stick with it. Do you recall back in 2019 when she sought the 2020 Democratic nomination? She had to withdraw from that race before the primaries even started. Apparently, I’m not the only person who found her to be quite unappealing. I can’t even recall what her policy positions were, but there was something off putting about her demeanor — a kind of pretentiousness that really turned me off. And the word salads, oh my god.

Back then, I was hoping for an inspiring Dem candidate to come forward. Someone who was the exact opposite of Trump. An honest person with integrity, someone without scandals and other flaws with which Trump and his deplorables could attack him/her with. Someone who was a good speaker who could take advantage of the myriad reasons why Trump should be banished from the White House. I wanted someone who could articulate, in a powerful way, the depth of Trump’s depravity.

Then, to my horror, Joe Biden wins the nomination. What!? Joe Biden!? The guy who the phrase “gaffe machine” was named after!? Oh my god. What a disappointment. Well, at least the polls were saying that he could beat Trump. Then, when he announced that he was going to pick an African American woman for his VP, I was hoping he would pick Val Demings, the congresswoman from Florida. I was impressed with her performance as the House Impeachment manager during Trump’s first impeachment. This was someone who was strong, confident and well spoken, who had no obvious flaws with which the Trumpers could attack her with. But instead, he picks Harris — the vulnerable word salad queen.

This, to me, was yet another red flag on Joe Biden. A sign that Joe just doesn’t know how to deal with Trump and the MAGAs. That worry would only be shown to be warranted as Biden would make one bad decision after another. Biden just doesn’t know how fight against scumbags like Trump, MAGA, the Republican party and the right-wing media propaganda/hate machine. For the next five years we had to endure someone who, not only couldn’t land a punch on such an easy target as the reprobate Trump, but who himself was a human punching bag. Biden was a fucking gift to Trump world.

In my previous post, I told the sad sordid story about how we wound up with Kamala. Once the final hold outs finally agreed to let the delegates just choose Kamala as the Dem nominee, I was very pessimistic for many reasons. First there was the fact that her approval ratings were even worse than President stiff, lame and stupid (low 30s!). And for good reason. Besides her own massive flaws, she was inheriting all of Biden’s. I could just picture Trump and the right-wing media machine having a field day going after her history of advocating for and supporting every single widely hated extremist left wing policy in the book. Not to mention the immigration debacle and inflation. How could we trust someone like this to be the one to keep Trump out of the White House?

But then there was a tremendous surge of excitement when she started her campaign. Her first campaign rally gave me hope. She gave a fiery speech about how, as a former prosecutor she took on perpetrators of all kinds. Predators who abused women. Fraudsters who ripped off consumers. Cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. She knew Donald Trump’s type! Wow! That’s the way to talk about that motherfucker! You go girl!

The crowd started chanting “LOCK HIM UP. LOCK HIM UP.” This is exactly what I had been wanting to hear for a long time. It was long overdue for that phrase to be used against Trump — a real, actual criminal who deserved to be behind bars. This is the way to beat Trump — give him a taste of his own medicine. For the first time in years, I became really inspired. Then the poll numbers came out and she had closed the gap that Biden had against Trump, even leading in some polls. The Trump campaign was freaking out. I was really hopeful. Just keep this up, Kamala, and you can beat him! But that was the first, last and only time she went really hard and directly at Trump’s malign character and behavior.

She seemed to just coast after that, as if, ‘I already reminded you about how bad this guy is. So now I don’t really have to do it anymore.’ No Kamala, people have short memories, and they get easily distracted by counter narratives. You have to do it over and over and over again. And you have to go into deep detail about all the shit he’s done. Like how he spent five years promoting the right-wing fake news Obama birth certificate hoax. Like the time he promoted the right-wing fake news hoax about the “thousands and thousands” of Muslims celebrating the 9/11 attack from New Jersey rooftops. Like the time he tweeted outrageously false (promoted by a White supremacist and admirer of Adolph Hitler) right-wing fake news hoax about Black on White murder statistics. Those were dastardly and racist lies that Trump purposely used to incite hatred among his supporters.

Hey everybody, the guy who became famous for falsely accusing the media of reporting “fake news” is, himself, the greatest promoter of fake news, ever!!

You should have been talking constantly about his long and terrible history of inciting violence with his disgusting hate mongering. Remember the Trump super fan Cesar Sayoc and his mail bombs? Remember the Pittsburgh synagogue mass shooting and the El Paso mass shootings which followed his vicious attacks on immigrants where the shooters used the same rhetoric that Trump used!? He was warned, time after time, to stop using that incendiary rhetoric, but that bastard wouldn’t stop. He has blood on his hands!!

See Kamala? That’s how you do it. Repeat that stuff over and over and over again. Just like the way Trump called you ‘stupid’ and ‘low IQ’ over and over and over again. There are countless stories about Trump’s stupidity. You didn’t use a single one. Trump wrung every single drop of outrage out of every single negative thing you ever did, while you left mountains and mountains of ammunition against Trump on the table.

Of course, it would have been great if the Dems had a candidate who didn’t give Trump so much ammunition. Someone like Josh Shapiro. I am certain that if the Dems had chosen someone like Shapiro as their candidate, we would have won in a landslide.

So Kamala was riding high and everyone was anticipating who she’s going to pick for her VP. The obvious smart choice seemed to be Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. A moderate and popular governor of the most important swing state with a good record. He would balance out her history of way too extreme left wing policies and give a move, by Kamala, to the center credibility (which she desperately needed to do). It would also expose the lie, and take away one of their favorite attack lines, that the Democratic party is anti-Semitic. The Trump campaign was shitting in their pants, but, shockingly, she picked Tim Walz of Minnesota. I couldn’t believe it. Neither could the Trump campaign. I know for a fact that that they were extremely relieved about that.

Could she have picked a worse running mate than ‘Tampon Tim’? This was the beginning of my loss of hope for our chances to defeat Trump. Walz had his own history of supporting very unpopular far left policies that neither he nor Kamala were able to defend. This only reinforced the picture of her as being way too liberal. They were both attacked mercilessly about this. I could see the loss coming.

Those two frustrated me at every turn. Their campaign strategy was bewildering. They rode the upsurge in hope and excitement for too long and their joyful positivity act wore thin pretty quickly because they waited too long to do interviews and answer tough questions. This only made me worry more about whether or not they could handle a tough interview. I was afraid about questions about the border, immigration and their past stands on very controversial far left positions. Can Kamala answer a question concisely, without going into one of her painful word salads? The answer was no.

There was not a single interview where I came away satisfied. As a matter of fact, they were painful to watch. They really made me suffer. Meanwhile, Trump was having a field day attacking her. Trump, of course, is himself a fucking train wreck. But neither Harris/Walz nor the Dems themselves were able to come near to fully exploiting the dumpster fire that is Trump.

Here is a glaring example. The campaign came up with the “brilliant” idea of labeling the Trump campaign as “weird.” Oh my god. WTF? Of all the words they could think of to describe Trump and his low life enablers, Harris/Walz come up with “weird”!?

Trump is the most prolific liar in American political history. He is a sociopath, and a demagogue. He is a hate monger like we’ve never seen before in this country — who justifiably draws comparisons to Hitler (by Republicans, Independents and Democrats alike). A man with a personality that is so toxic that even Tucker Carlson called him “a demonic force, a destroyer” in private emails to his colleagues. A man who has been poisoning the country with this toxic personality and tearing it apart ever since his Obama birther days. A man who brings out the worst in both his friends and his enemies, who has inflamed the very worst impulses of his supporters and provoked them into threatening a civil war with and secession from their fellow citizens. He’s gotten his supporters to distrust the institutions that have made this country great and to believe all of the very worst accusations against the people who disagree with them. Trump has promoted every single crazy right-wing conspiracy theory like it had his name on it. He has weaponized the violent fringe of his supporters and uses the threat of violence against anyone who criticizes him, pisses him off, doesn’t go along with his lies, or tries to make him account for his many crimes. His incendiary rhetoric is at least partially responsible for the Pittsburgh synagogue mass shooting and the El Paso mass shootings which followed his vicious attacks on immigrants where the shooters used the same rhetoric that Trump used. He is wholly responsible for the death of Ashli Babbitt, who would not have been killed if it wasn’t for his treacherous lies about voter fraud. And that scumbag, Trump, had the downright gall to blame the Black police officer who was protecting the last line of defense from a violent mob that had bashed their way through a barricaded doorway and was threatening to kill Trump’s own Vice President, Nancy Pelosi and others. And, of course, the “stand your ground” crowd threatened the cop — who was only doing his duty — with death threats.

And the word Harris and Walz come up with to describe this abomination of a human being — is “weird”!? How did that work out? It fizzled within days.

However, there was a label that would not only have captured a truth about Trump that was extremely relevant to his unfitness to be president, but would only have grown in power as the campaign progressed. The label? Con Man .

As described above, Trump is many things — all of them awful — but first and foremost, he is a con man. He has been a con man for his entire adult life. Practically every advance in this miscreant’s life — his personal life, his business life, his political life — has been made on the back of a con. Any biographical account of this man’s life will show that to be true. The tales of Trump’s deceitfulness are legion. If Harris/Walz had used that label, and knew how to milk it, I think they could have won the election — even with all their flaws. The beauty of that label is that it rings true — because it is true. Everyone knows it’s true — except for his most delusional supporters.

All Harris/Walz had to do was to apply that label to practically every single thing he has ever said or done. Point out his earlier life cons — his deceitful boasts about his wealth, his business acumen, and his intelligence. Ask to see his college transcripts (something he’s gone to great lengths to hide). Tell us how he conned all of his wives by cheating on them with other women. How he started his 2016 campaign by telling lies about immigrants while his own businesses had been using very many undocumented immigrants for decades. How he conned his supporters into believing that he would build a wall and that Mexico would pay for it. How he conned those who voted for him into believing that he would get rid of Obamacare and replace it with something that was perfect — something much better and cheaper and everyone would be covered and how it would be “so easy.”

They could have told us how he promised to get rid of the debt, but instead, added more to it than any other one term president in history. Remind his supporters how, in an interview with Bob Woodward, he admitted to his belief and understanding of how deadly COVID was, yet, during the height of COVID encouraged them to eschew masks and come to his packed rallies — all for his own self aggrandizement. Point out how this unprincipled, morally depraved low life has conned religious people into buying his Bibles!

The label “con man” would have been an endless well from which Harris/Walz could have drawn from. If they had gone to this well at every rally and every time they were in front of a microphone and at their debates, it would have made that label stick and grow in power. How long did “they’re weird” last? A week?

Repetition is the key. The sheer volume of examples would have been impossible to ignore. Can you imagine the Trump campaign having to defend against this endless volley of truth bombs? Then they could have gone after Trump’s biggest con of all: the lie that all of the investigations and prosecutions leveled against Trump were “hoaxes,” “witch hunts,” “the weaponization of government” and “lawfare.” “They” weren’t “going after” him because of his politics. They were going after him because he committed crimes.

Donald Trump is not a victim, he’s a criminal who’s gotten away with unforgivable crimes — thanks to Biden and Garland.
