Why the entire world is prostrating itself to Donald Trump beats me. Maybe if I’d had an invite to Mar a Lago, I would be tempted to understand his rusted magnetism better. Absent that or a whole lot of free money, the draw mystifies me. Human beings are not drawn to ugliness by nature, yet….
This is a man who apparently cannot bend over to remove toilet paper from the sole of his shoe.
This is a man who has visible trouble lifting a bottle of water to his lips.
This is a man who barks huge whoppers in the face of endless video evidence, evidence to which the global audience has easy access.
This is a man who claims to be a “Christian” but who doesn’t realize that there’s an Old and a New Testament, the precepts of which he is clearly unfamiliar with.
This is a man who repeatedly mocks special needs folks.
This is a man whose venality and cruelty emanate from his pores like the stench reported authentically by those brave souls with the courage to remark it.
This is a man who speaks only in stark absolutes, fantastical hyperboles, and sweeping generalizations. Any one of his twitter opinions, were it rendered in writing in a basic composition course, would earn super bad grades.
“Where is your support?” a kinder teacher than I would write in blood red ink. “Your language is unclear.” “Cite your sources.” “Avoid inflammatory language.” Who are the thousands of “theys” Trump cites whenever he’s inventing approval ratings or hurling vile condemnations? The bloviator-elect is incapable of defining an antecedent for his overused “theys.” Yet his audiences devour his every word, as though they were starved of spiritual nutrition. Why?
This is a man who is rotting from within, like a bloating carcass, which means those flocking to his cheesy throne--the congressmen and billionaires, the foreign pilgrims and the Proud Boys--have been reduced to flies on s**t.
