You Go Girl! Once again, it takes a woman with balls to call him out. 'Bravo': Liz Cheney's stinging rebuke to Trump earns cheers on social media. www.rawstory.com/...
Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) clapped back at President-elect Donald Trump, who raged about the never-Trump conservative on his social media app, calling her a "Warmonger of low intelligence." ✂️ "Donald, this is not the Soviet Union. You can’t change the truth and you cannot silence us. Remember all your lies about the voting machines, the election workers, your countless allegations of fraud that never happened? Many of your lawyers have been sanctioned, disciplined or disbarred, the courts ruled against you, and dozens of your own White House, administration, and campaign aides testified against you. Remember how you sent a mob to our Capitol and then watched the violence on television and refused for hours to instruct the mob to leave? Remember how your former Vice President prevented you from overturning our Republic? We remember." She added that Americans need to "reject your latest malicious falsehoods and stand as the guardrails of our Constitutional Republic — to protect the America we love from you."

Thank you General Honore! 'Why the hell did we do that?' Retired general raises alarm at Musk's government ties. www.rawstory.com/…
Following up on a high-profile opinion piece he wrote for the New York Times calling billionaire Elon Musk a "national security risk," retired Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré wondered aloud on MSNBC how the U.S. government allowed itself to be put at the mercy of the billionaire. ✂️ "Elon Musk has already shown us in the Ukraine situation, he is not unconcerned about using that leverage to his advantage against the interests of an ally of the United States, and getting concessions, and getting whatever he thinks that he needs in that scenario. How dangerous is that aspect of this?" host Steele prompted his guest. "Well, right now, we never want to get into a single source of intelligence, a single source of communication," the retired general replied. "I don't know how we got into this mess contracting with one contractor, SpaceX, doing rockets for us as well as controlling communications." ✂️ "So, I don't know how the U.S. government –– we have the National Reconnaissance Office, we got Space Command, we got NASA," he detailed. "How in the hell the people in Washington have subjugated our intelligence and our communications to a private company. Why in the hell did we do that? And it is going to get worse, Michael."

I may have put together a disjointed Shade yesterday, but at least I did better than Moses MiQe. 'No evidence': Mike Johnson flubs as he mistakenly attributes prayer to Thomas Jefferson. www.rawstory.com/...
Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) read off a prayer on Friday shortly after being re-elected to House speaker, but experts say he flubbed his assertion it was recited daily by President Thomas Jefferson. “I was asked to provide a prayer for the nation," Johnson told his colleagues on Friday, according to a report in The Daily Beast. "I offered one that is quite familiar to historians and probably many of us. It is said each day of his eight years of the presidency and every day thereafter until his death, President Thomas Jefferson recited this prayer." The text is as follows: Almighty God, Who has given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech Thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Thy favor and glad to do Thy will. Bless our land with honorable ministry, sound learning, and pure manners.
Save us from violence, discord, and confusion, from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitude brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues.
Endow with Thy spirit of wisdom those to whom in Thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth.
In time of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
But according to the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, there's no evidence to support the nation's third president ever recited the prayer. "We have no evidence that this prayer was written or delivered by Thomas Jefferson. It appears in the 1928 United States Book of Common Prayer, and was first suggested for inclusion in a report published in 1919," the foundation said on its Monticello website.
Bolding mine.

This is a really good, long piece that reads more like a John Le Carré novel than a newspiece. When you have time, take a look. The Militia and the Mole. www.propublica.org/…
John Williams kept a backpack filled with everything he’d need to go on the run: three pairs of socks; a few hundred dollars cash; makeshift disguises and lock-picking gear; medical supplies, vitamins and high-calorie energy gels; and thumb drives that each held more than 100 gigabytes of encrypted documents, which he would quickly distribute if he were about to be arrested or killed. On April 1, 2023, Williams retrieved the bag from his closet and rushed to his car. He had no time to clean the dishes that had accumulated in his apartment. He did not know if armed men were out looking for him. He did not know if he would ever feel safe to return. He parked his car for the night in the foothills overlooking Salt Lake City and curled up his 6-foot-4-inch frame in the back seat of the 20-year-old Honda. This was his new home. He turned on a recording app to add an entry to his diary. His voice had the high-pitched rasp of a lifelong smoker: “Where to fucking start,” he sighed, taking a deep breath. After more than two years undercover, he’d been growing rash and impulsive. He had feared someone was in danger and tried to warn him, but it backfired. Williams was sure at least one person knew he was a double agent now, he said into his phone. “It’s only a matter of time before it gets back to the rest.” In the daylight, Williams dropped an envelope with no return address in a U.S. Postal Service mailbox. He’d loaded it with a flash drive and a gold Oath Keepers medallion. It was addressed to me.

From Aaron Rupar. bsky.app/...
Does Trump think “windfall” is a type of windmill? (The piece he links to does not mention wind energy.)
=== From Laurence Tribe bsky.app/... With all the talk about Judge Merchan’s plan to impose a sentence without jail time or fine & with an unconditional discharge on January 10, I’d urge him instead to condition Trump’s discharge on obeying the presidential oath he will take on January 20. That’s a promise we know Trump won’t keep. ===
