Dems Should Use Trump‘s Seditious Conspiracy on 1/6/2021 as Grounds For Not Certifying EC [1]

Here’s a critically important fact that every American should remember about the planning that went into the January 6 storming of the Capitol in 2021.
The Proud Boys left the ellipse early before all the speeches were done and positioned themselves at the Capitol barricades. They did nothing when they got there, knowing that they were outnumbered. They were there to wait until the mob they knew would be coming arrived to provide the bulk and muscle that they could direct towards achieving the breach.
When the screaming hoards reached the scene, this funded right-wing militia was there to help inspire the collective decision to bring the mob’s rage to the Capitol building itself.
Again, they waited until numbers were sufficient and in position beyond the Capitol steps before they made their own move towards the doors and windows.
They used military tactics to move through the crowd, ascending in a straight line with a hand on the shoulder of the man in front of them.
Their goal was to make sure that the rioters got inside. And no doubt they knew where the entrances to the House floor were.
Their planning had to include the knowledge and timing of when 1000s would be sent their way. Was that arranged between Trump, Roger Stone, and Proud Boy leaders? It had to be.
And that’s the smoking gun that pinpoints the reasoning behind the first call to deny the counting of electoral college votes on the basis of violating Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. This should be the basis of why the concept of “regular order“ of submitted votes is violated.
According to the Constitution, Trump, as an orchestrater of a seditious conspiracy, can never hold public office again. This disqualification should nullify any electoral college votes for him.
Call today to urge your house member to please stand up and raise this point before he and other Democrats vote against certifying the electoral college votes from Alabama.
This first objection to certification can be the hub in the center of a wheel. As each subsequent state certification is introduced, other aspects of seditious conspiracy can be introduced into the congressional record as reasoning behind voting not to accept EC votes.
The fake elector plan, the Georgia phone call asking to “find votes”, and even the evidence behind Trump‘s trying to use the military to confiscate voting machines all can be once again brought front and center. In essence, these statements for the record can all act as shaming those who continue to stand by Trump, knowing what he already has done and intends to do next.
Who knows? As the hours drag on this Monday, there may be a few Republicans on the floor who see that the travesties soon to befall the American people and democracy itself will prevent their own reelection in two years.
So perhaps their path to reelection might include standing up to Trump and ending their humiliating capitulation. To be sheep led by a lunatic with no honor and no respect for all that has made America great is about to be more soul-crushing in just a couple of weeks.
Knowing how ugly the fall of Trumpism is likely to be and the absolute partisan backlash lying ahead in 2026, could the future leaders of the party be the ones that stand against him now? Or with that goal in mind, is it better to keep their powder dry and wait for the next impeachment to make their moves?
There is an over/under date after which most of America will understand that Trump has been allowed to go too far. And the GOP will be held accountable, powerless for a generation. And that date may likely come in the next year.
On the house floor this Monday, how many Republicans are capable of deciding that it’s not worth allowing that much damage, the crippling of the economy, and the tanking of their own political careers to allow Trump to be the president again?
Is there a mechanism through which a vote for disqualification via the 14th may be voted on with Kamala Harris holding the gravel?
The America I’ve known and loved my whole life would find a way. Otherwise #RepublicFascism will erode democracy to the point where it’s just a quaint memory for our children and grandchildren.
