Democracy on January 6th [1]

Remind your representatives in Congress to stand up for democracy on January 6th this year by voting not to accept Electoral Votes for traitor to the United States, Donald Trump.

You can easily send a message to them using:

Here’s the kind of message to send them:

On January 6th, you will be asked to confirm the Electoral Count. Because Donald Trump participated in the insurrection and also because he aided insurrectionists, he is not qualified to hold the office of President. He is excluded by the Fourteenth Amendment unless both houses of Congress approve him by two-thirds majorities. Please decline to do so unless you can get a firm guarantee from Republicans to hold him to the rule of law and the customs of our democracy. They need to agree to impeach and remove him if he pardons January 6th insurrectionists, fails to get proper confirmation for appointments, or uses the U.S. military within the U.S. for political purposes. Donald Trump is on record as wanting to corrupt our law enforcement for revenge and retribution against his enemies. This is completely criminal and Republicans should be with all other Americans in opposing that. If Republicans are unwilling to bring these people to justice, then please oppose the confirmation of Electoral Votes for Donald Trump. Thank you.

Remember, politicians have no spine. They won’t stand up unless we put a jolt of electricity through them by reminding them who they work for.

More at January 6th, 2025.

Let’s make an effort to at least show that the rule of law has some meaning to Americans.
