Photo Diary: A Walk in Abercrombie Park, St Pete [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

Date: 2025-01-02

This park near the local mall in St Pete FL got busted up quite a bit during the recent hurricanes, and some parts of it are still closed. But it’s a nice place to walk around, and feed the squirrels and birdies.

Some photos from a visit.

Pinellas County has a very nice network of parks and nature preserves

Lots of Live Oaks here

Slash Pines

Florida Wild Coffee

Palmetto

A boardwalk runs through a portion of the park

Some of the boardwalk got crunched during the hurricane and hasn’t been fixed yet

A view out onto the water

Mangrove trees

This boat got washed up on shore during the hurricane. I don’t know how they are gonna get it out of there.

This hill is a midden trash pile from a Tocobaga Native American village that was here at the time of European contact

The squirrels here are constantly fed by visitors

They probably eat better than I do
