Normally the new year is a time for optimism and fresh starts. Considering the state of the country, and the planet, I’m having a hard time with that this year. But I’m not willing to give in to despair.

So here is my New Year’s resolution: I will not surrender. I will stand with trans people, immigrants, and anyone else targeted by the incoming nightmare regime. I will find community with my neighbors. I will not go back in the closet. I will speak up even when my voice shakes. I will vote with my actions and my wallet. I will keep fighting to make my country a land of liberty and justice for ALL of us, no matter how long it takes.
