Nicolau Raurich: Barcelona (1909)

Good evening, Kibitzers!

I’m still very pleased with my weather: cloudy, cool, overnight temps in the 50s so I can sleep with the windows open and blankets on me! That is (one reason) why I love fall!

I see that the US is threatened by a major hurricane this week, Helene, just reaching hurricane strength this morning but headed for “major” status by Thursday, before she hits Florida and plows north into Georgia. We have limited KTK exposure in this area — princessdecoco is a very sensible woman, so she scarcely needs urging from me to activate her hurricane plan. Looks like eeff will get some rain out of it, maybe a lot. Everyone else, I am sorry your areas are not getting in on any of this rain. I’m sure they would happily send you some if they could.

Tonight’s KTK comes to you thanks to Top Comments. If you don’t know Top Comments, you should — they come on right after us, at 10 pm ET/7 pm PT, and they could certainly use our support in their quest to recognize the best comments made each day at Daily Kos. As you read things here on the Great Orange Satan, I am certain that you often see comments that are outstanding in some way: funny, smart, profound. Lots of us will never happen to see that comment, and that’s where you can help! Send a kosmail, or an email to topcomments at gmail dot com, to the Top Comments group, and give them a link, your USERNAME (especially if using email), and if possible, a few words about why you feel this comment is so top. And voila — there is it for more readers to read!

So anyway! Back on September 5, Ed Tracey wrote the Top Comments diary, and he included in his open thread this handy chart:

I thought, oh, wish I’d seen that first! Ed wasn’t including those songs in the diary, because open thread, but I was pretty sure the said thread was going to be all those songs. But it went somewhere entirely different, so I feel okay about fleshing out that chart for you!

Politics! This was a lot of videos, so I don’t want to go overboard here, but some of these have a shelf life (but are good enough that I don’t want to skip them).
