Fighting for Democracy: A Personal Commitment Beyond Measure

In a time when the health of our democracy is more critical than ever, I’ve taken on an enormous challenge. Juggling three jobs, raising two young children, and managing my own grassroots campaign, I am also dedicating significant time to supporting other local candidates across Southwest Florida. Each campaign is akin to a full-time job, and my efforts are driven by a profound belief that preserving and revitalizing our democratic values requires relentless, hands-on commitment.

I am deeply involved in the campaigns of several remarkable candidates who are working to bring genuine change to our communities.

This includes:

Chris Proia for State Senate District 33:www.dailykos.com/...

Phillip Carter for State Senate District 27:www.dailykos.com/...

Kelly Johnson for State House District 57,

Cornelius Fowler for State House District 77,

Howard Sapp for State House District 78:www.dailykos.com/...

Denise McCleary for State House District 79: www.dailykos.com/...

Mitchel Schlayer for State House District 80,

Lisa Stortstrom for State House District 85:www.dailykos.com/...

Jacquelyn McMiller for Fort Myers City Council Ward 2,

and

Cindy Banyai for Fort Myers City Council Ward 4.

(I will post links for each candidate as DKos allows me to)

Each of these candidates embodies a commitment to fighting for the issues that matter most: affordability, education, healthcare, and environmental protection.

The reality in red districts like these is that campaign funding is scarce. Major donors often focus their resources on blue areas where victories seem more certain, leaving grassroots candidates in red districts underfunded and struggling. This practice is not only flawed but also perpetuates the current state of disarray in Florida’s leadership. For decades, critical issues such as affordability, education, healthcare, and environmental protection have been neglected under a leadership that has failed to address these pressing concerns.

My ability to support these campaigns as a struggling single mother is made possible by the generous donations to Save Our Democracy, Corp, a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization based in Florida. This organization is dedicated to supporting grassroots candidates who are often overlooked by traditional donors but who are crucial to fostering real, lasting change. The funds we raise go directly to ensuring these candidates have the resources needed to run effective campaigns and reach voters who are crucial to their success.

We are incredibly grateful for every donation, no matter the size. Even small contributions can make a significant impact, helping to level the playing field and support candidates who are committed to upholding democratic values. The work we are doing is challenging but essential. By contributing to Save Our Democracy, Corp, you are not just supporting individual campaigns; you are investing in a broader movement to restore integrity and effectiveness to our political system.

Together, we can make a difference and fight for a democracy that serves everyone. Your support is invaluable and appreciated beyond words.
