Well, as expected the whistleblower who blew Ron DeSatan’s big golf course deal has been fired, after all he had concerns about the plans to pave public state parks and turn them into private golf courses and hotels.

www.motherjones.com/…

“Florida's department of environmental protection has fired a whistleblower who exposed and sank governor Ron DeSantis’ secretive plan to pave over environmentally sensitive state parks and build lucrative hotels, golf courses, and pickleball courts”

Of course the reasons for his firing are somewhat vague and are likely retaliatory for his spoiling the plan which was put together in several weeks and would have involved a blitz of one hour public input meeting all held at the same time to avoid public comment.

”I was directed to create nine maps depicting shocking and destructive infrastructure proposals, while keeping quiet as they were pushed through an accelerated and under-the-radar public engagement process,” Gaddis wrote on a GoFundMe page he set up following his dismissal.”

He felt that the state parks, public lands, were more important than keeping his job….luckily his go fund me is doing well and this will tide him over.

Of course the DEP of Florida has no comment on his firing and implies there is no way it was retaliatory but because he broke DEP (Department of Environmental Protection…..now there is an oxymoron) rules and supplied questionable information to the paper who broke the story….of course they do not mention what information was questionable.

I am sure at this point Ron and his no bid contract friends are pi$$ed and will try another tack as soon as the media focus dies down…..the quest to pave over paradise is never ending.

Of course state <democratic> legislators are very “concerned” at the moment and asking

“Were they using a specific legislative process? Were there conversations that were meant to be public that weren’t?”

Republicans who control the state remain mute at this time.

Possibly more to come, or not.
