Raging at Former Guy, Should We Raise a Stink? Depends. [1]

In August, 1946, with Donald Trump two months old (and no doubt in diapers), novelist/playwright/eventual Poet Laureate Robert Penn Warren published his Pulitzer-winning take on dreck and demagoguery, All the King’s Men. At least a few times, it presents an adage that- until Watergate exploded- my high school politics teacher effectively denied:
Man is conceived in sin and born in corruption and he passeth from the stink of the didie to
the stench of the shroud. There is always something.
That is, something foul beneath the floorboards. Or, in the case of Big Blonder, something vile behind the facade of his YUGE custom-made pants.
On he goes (without those style-crimping trips to the dudes’ room). According to sources broached in Meidas Touch Network’s “#TrumpSmells Becomes Top Trend In U.S. …,” he may do well to start lawyering up against pending charges of ‘ordure most foul.’
In effect, in Warren’s terms, he’s passed from the stink of post-WWII cloth diapers to the strong (man) stench of latter-day disposables.
Doing so, he’s become a walking, stifling metaphor. Lest we ‘forget,’ his 30,000 documented lies in office amply fulfilled his Mussolini-crazed sidekick Steve Bannon’s revelation that Trump’s MO has always been to “flood the zone with s***.”
‘Needless to say,’ we can ill afford to keep turning nose-blind beaks to the 800-pound manure spreader in the room. Awash in muck from the self-styled “Chosen One” who (echoing Il Duce, sans credit) vows to “DRAIN THE SWAMP,” let’s start to inform the still blissfully perfumed electorate what’s going on (while we still can).
