Haley Continues to Surge in New Hampshire [1]

The Guardian is reporting that Nikki Haley is now within four points of Trump in the latest poll in New Hampshire by the American Research Group.

It was the endorsement of Haley by New Hampshire’s popular Republican governor, Chris Sununu, a couple weeks ago that started the momentum. Sununu had previously said he’d time his eventual endorsement for maximum effect.

The New Hampshire primary is just a month away, and it could be the beginning of Trump’s great unraveling. He’s no longer the political outsider he was in 2016; now he’s just another candidate, and New Hampshire’s notoriously fickle voters could be the boot that kicks him off the national stage.

With no meaningful contest on the Democratic side — President Biden’s name isn’t even on the ballot — there’s every incentive for independent voters to pull Republican ballots and cast what could be the most decisive votes of their lives.

Is this good news for Democrats? I’ve always felt that Haley would be a tougher opponent for President Biden than Trump would be, but others have said that Trump’s followers would never show up for Haley.

We may be about to find out.
