Could the Dam Possibly Break? [1]

I have no factual data on which to base my opinion, it’s just a feeling I have, and one that is growing stronger by the day. Trump is facing a large and growing list of legal problems, some of which could potentially land him in jail, possibly before the election. Each passing day seems to bring new revelations like those being reported in Michigan today.
With the recent rise of Nikki Haley (who, let us never forget, is a whack job right wing lunatic, no matter how “moderate” she may appear) in a couple of early primary states, it leads me to wonder whether, when some event happens and the TFG dam develops a crack, the dam might collapse completely in short order.
To be sure, the die-hard MAGA folks will never abandon him, but I feel (and have always felt) that the true cultists only represent a small minority of his base. What would happen if, once the dam cracks, the majority of them finally get a clue that his brand of wannabe dictatorship is, in fact, dangerous and all too real? And they start to abandon him in droves?
Could it be that by mid-summer 2024, we’re all saying “Donald who?”
