Words versus Actions [1]

It’s time! Either the republicans are for The Constitution, or they are not!
They are for law and order, or they are not!
At every opportunity, they repeatedly and loudly proclaim they are the party of “The Constitution” and for law and order.
It’s time their actions begin to reflect their words—either “put up or shut up!”
On January 6, 2021, this Country faced an insurrection—a direct attack on the Capitol building and those who work there, by a mob incited to do so. That is a fact, and many direct participants have already taken their trip through the justice system as defined by The Constitution.
If indeed, republicans, from their leaders down to the voter level, believe in The Constitution, they should be making urgent and unambiguous demands on the Justice System to deal with Donald J. Trump, who has been DULY indicted for his role in that insurrection among other charges.
Should Trump be elected, without a verdict(s) from the Justice System, republican inaction will facilitate a Constitutional Crisis unlike any we have ever faced. Without question, Trump will attempt to remove himself from ever facing a jury of his peers for any of the charges he currently faces.
On the subject of law and order, if republicans continue their blind support, often portraying Trump as a victim and his role as somehow justified; they have an ethical and moral obligation to stop blatantly lying to the American public about what they stand for! Based on the history of their conflicting words and actions, they are for law and order when convenient: for instance, punishing street crime, but not shirt and tie crime, nor it would seem—Trump crime!
The real tragedy of this whole sorry mess is that half the Country either never understood, or has forgotten, how fragile Democracy is and how much its preservation depends on “EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW.”
