PWB Peeps Open Thread: Poetry of Holmes [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

in honor of Forefathers Day, here is a bit of Revolutionary poetry

A Ballad of the Boston Tea Party (part)

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr (1809-1894)

No! never such a draught was poured

Since Hebe served with nectar

The bright Olympians and their Lord,

Her over-kind protector,—

Since Father Noah squeezed the grape

And took to such behaving

As would have shamed our grandsire ape

Before the days of shaving,—

No! ne'er was mingled such a draught

In palace, hall, or arbor,

As freemen brewed and tyrants quaffed

That night in Boston Harbor!

A gentle reminder of how we do things: 🐱🐶🐦

Do not troll the diary. If you hate pootie diaries, leave now. No harm, no foul.

Please do share pics of your fur kids! If you have health/behavior issues with your pets, feel free to bring it to the community.

Pooties are cats; Woozles are dogs. Birds... are birds! Peeps are people.

Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. If you’re having “issues” with another Kossack, keep it “out there.” This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
