Implausible deniability: Yes, there really is such a thing [1]

The term implausible deniability kinda sorta reminds me of the word inarguable; in other words, “it can’t be argued.” Arguably, it makes sense. I take it you would agree.
So, let’s consider plausibility in the context of climate-change denialism.
As you already know, there are a number of folks who are in complete denial where climate change and/or human-influenced climate change is concerned. There is no denying that. This is an example of plausible deniability or denialism that’s plausible or believable.
Now what about implausible deniability in the same context? How’s that?! Unbelievable deniability. Come again?!
I believe my A calming voice in the climate-change age article should serve as a case in point.
I’ll explain.
Before that article went live, I had done what I believed was sufficient research on the matter at hand to go public.
But, by the apparent upheaval I created after that article was made public, tells me differently. In fact, I was convinced I knew what I was talking about, speaking to.
Though I wasn’t humiliated (at least I don’t think I was and I didn’t feel like I was) I couldn’t help but feel like I had done somewhat of a disservice by going public with what I wrote. Had I stood by my work refusing to back down, refusing to relent, refusing to give in (which I did, ultimately) and, if what commenters were asserting really did, in fact, hold water, have merit, then not only would I have been in denial, but that denial from the standpoint of the way others might have viewed it, their interpretation might have been one of complete and utter disbelief.
There you have it. Implausible deniability. Just remember, folks, you heard it here first!
