Let The People Decide? The Constitution Already Has That Built In [1]

There’s a lot of talk on the right about how The Supreme Court should’t do their jobs and enforce the Constitution when it comes to Trump’s very obvious insurrection. It’s nonsense. That doesn’t mean the conservatives on the Supreme Court won’t peddle nonsense. They’ve long since abandoned any shroud of legitimacy when it comes to certain Dominionist agenda items. But it’s still nonsense. I’ve read a lot of news about the 14th Amendment recently but the part I haven’t seen mentioned is the final phrase. I’ve copied the entirety of section 3 below and bolded the key part. It’s very clear that if the Supreme Court follows its obligation to remove Trump from the ballots nationwide, there’s still a remedy for keeping him in the election. The people’s representatives in Congress, the people they voted for to make these decisions… they can fix it for Trump… if they see fit. The people have a voice on this as a last resort. So, anyone saying they don’t is just lying to you, flat out.
“No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.”
