This scene plays out over and over and over again with men getting killed and armored vehicles getting blown up — and Russia keeps doing it.

This Russian wrote out a final farewell on a brick and is being hailed in Russia as a hero.
x The fate of many Russian soldiers. During the storming of Mar'inka, Russian soldier Roman Rudakov of the 103rd regiment was ambushed and killed alongside 8 others of his unit.

A cold splash of reality in the face. Hopefully whatever offensive Ukraine launches next year will be different than this past summer’s.
x Moreover, they state that we saved 90% of the equipment supplied. This is just BS. We lost ~540 pieces of equipment just visually confirmed. So, about 700 in reality.
Basically, the idiots who wrote the article state that we've been supplied 7000 pieces. Check that with reality. — Angry Ukrainian 🇺🇦 (@SmartUACat) December 16, 2023
Russia shoots down its own Su-25.
x Friendly fire: Russians Downed Their Own SU-25 in Eastern Ukraine 🛩️
Ukrainian military sources confirm it was accidental, blaming Russian anti-aircraft gunners. Russian military bloggers claim an accident due to adverse weather.

Hopefully the first step toward ridding Transnistria of its Russian garrison.
x Moldova conducts military exercises near Transnistria, adopts a defense strategy, and increases spending
The exercises scheduled for 17-22 December happen near the Russian-controlled proxy Transnistria, 22 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

According to European Pravda, in 2023, Moldova’s defense spending increased by almost 70%. Additional funds were directed mainly to the purchase of air defense systems. The European Union has also handed over medical and protective equipment, mine detectors, all-terrain vehicles, drones, and generators to the National Army of Moldova. Transnistria, officially part of Moldova, was an autonomous Moldovan republic within the USSR stretching along the banks of the Dnister River. In 1990, the 14th Soviet Army, mainly Russian-staffed, was stationed there. Russian military personnel actively participated in the 1990-1992 war of self-proclaimed Transnistria against Moldova. After a ceasefire was reached on 21 July 1992, the war became a frozen conflict, with the leverage of Russian influence over Moldova.
I just don’t see this happening on this scale. I haven’t seen any evidence of organized nationalist resistance in a lot of these regions that would be capable of sustaining an independence movement. Russia dissolving into a dozen or more separate countries is a fantasy. Although it is quite possible that given a Russian defeat and a new government in Moscow, a few regions like Tatarstan might try it.
x The principal reason for the US slow walking aid and restricting the use of supplied weapons appears to be fears of Russia collapsing into regional chunks (based on Sullivan and his staff's recent remarks). There are people like this all over Ukraine, taking it as their responsibility to look after homeless pets.
x 2/ One of the village's residents, Olena Bubenko, is trying to solve the problem of homeless dogs, so she organized a shelter for them. Eighty-seven dogs now live near her house.
