The students sing in Arabic with English subtitles translating the Arabic.
The singers are students at the Ramallah Friends School on the West Bank. It used to be known as the Friends Boys School and in a different part of town, the Friends Girls School. The girls school was founded by Quakers in 1869, and the boys school opened in 1918. en.wikipedia.org/…
Today the co-ed K-6 school is housed at the former girls school and the coed secondary facility is at the former boys school. The Ramallah Friends School today has almost 1200 students (kindergarten to pre-university), 90 teaching staff and about 40 support staff. Over 90% go on to further education at colleges and universities.
The three college students from Ramallah who were shot in Vermont on November 25 are graduates of RFS and met there in the first grade.
Here are the English subtitles for the song in Arabic set to the melody of The Little Drummer Boy.
