In case you don’t subscribe to Mother Jones, I’d like to call your attention to their cover story, “American Oligarchy “ which outlines the deep involvement of the American FIRE sector (finance, investment, real estate) in international money laundering, especially Russian assets. A thought occurred to me, partly through the read, that the shell corporations owning these assets are American corporations, and therefore eligible to contribute unlimited amounts to super PACs without revealing their funders, per Citizens United.
This seems like a likely explanation for the Republican Party’s support of Russia over Ukraine, not to mention the decay of the US House, thanks to Republican obstructionists.
So if you’re not a MJ subscriber, become one. It’s cheap and they do great investigative work. Then act. Write John Robert’s and ask him if he anticipated this when deciding Citizens United, or if he’s the dumbest f#%& on the planet. secure.motherjones.com/...
