AMERICA: Love it or Leave it [1]

Remember “gotcha questions”? Questions that supposedly throw the candidate off and trap them into saying something that torpedoes their chances for good? Some famous ones were directed at Sarah Palin like: “What magazines or newspapers do you read?” or “what’s a favorite story of yours from the American revolution”? (some might argue those weren’t real gotcha questions - but for her they were). These are the questions which can practically end a political career.

Well the other night Hannity lobbed a similar softball to Trump - which might in retrospect be considered a “gotcha question:” “Are you going to be a dictator?” And since Trump somehow, in Hannity’s eyes, messed up his first response - he lobbed it in again: ”Are you going to be a dictator?” Trump’s now famous answer: “Yes, from day one.” Now for any candidate not named Trump this would’ve ended their chances then and there - but what was the response of the crowd? - raucous cheering, agreement and laughter. And what has been the response from the right wing since? - a huge: “Ho Hum, … that’s just Trump being Trump” REALLY?? The man says - “Of course I’m going to be a dictator” and the response sums up to: “Nothing to see here everybody - let’s just move on…?” I mean can’t we just all agree once and for all that there is no “moving on”: that, finally, this is Trump’s “gotcha moment?”

We now know there are a vast number of Republicans ardently desiring to live in a dictatorship: as long as it’s under Trump. And for the rest - what’s their answer? … “Well, he said he’s only going to be a dictator on day one”? Really, so.. how does that go for a guy like Trump: “I’m going to be a dictator on day one - and after that I’ll just go back to being a regular guy.... Pinky promise.” (?) …and they expect the rest of us to accept that nonsense??

So apparently now, these “American Patriots” like Trump, all admire the dictators of the world: Kim Jong Un: “Smart guy, intelligent guy”…Xi Jinping: “Strong guy, tough guy - knows how to run a country: did the right thing in Tiananmen Square”...and don’t even get me started on their fanboy worship of Vladimir Putin. These “American Patriots” all cannot wait to VOTE for the guy who promises to end the Republic and gift our country with a dictatorship. Tell me again how that is American or patriotic???? This is what I say to them: if they love dictatorships so much - why don’t they all move to Russia or China or North Korea - rather than foisting this BULL SHIT on the rest of us? I’ll just revive a favorite saying of theirs from the 1960’s: “AMERICA - love it or leave it!!!”
