Starting off in the Bistro Cafe, a Texas judge granted a woman permission to get an emergency, life-saving abortion, but Attorney General Ken Paxton threatened hospitals, doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff with felony charges if they help her stay alive.
Then, on the rest of the menu, Senator Rick Scott of Florida is sounding the alarm about the national security risk posed by communist garlic from China; the maternal mortality rate is much higher for Black women than white women in Mississippi; and, the University of Michigan is launching a new effort to fight antisemitism.
After the break, we move to the Chef’s Table where a Moscow court extended the pre-trial detentions of three lawyers for representing imprisoned opposition leader Alexei Navalny; and, Japan pledged $4.5 Billion more in aid for Ukraine, including $1 Billion in humanitarian funds.
