Grassroots Canvassing Year-end Wrap-Up; Hope Springs from Field! [1]

“You told us how many doors you knocked, but not the rest of the stats. Did I miss something?”
Nope, that’s all on me. October was a difficult month to keep up with what Hope Springs from Field PAC has been doing — outside of our intense focus on GOTV (Get-Out-the-Vote) in Ohio and Pennsylvania. And, to be honest, after the elections i needed a little recovery time.
Volunteers organized by Hope Springs from Field have been knocking on doors in since 2021 — in an effort to revive Democratic canvassing efforts in Swing States after the 2020 Covid mandate to restrict in-person voter contact. We will continue to knock on doors next year. No one should be surprised we are all taking a winter break.
Each year, we have expanded our reach and expect to do so again for the vital 2024 elections. We won every since 2023 race in which we participated, glad to say, including “special elections” in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Ohio (the August ballot initiative). But each election allows us to build out further.
In the past year, volunteers from Hope Springs from Field knocked on 6,296,605 doors with an Issues Survey of Democrats, Independents and Unaffiliated Voters in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin & Virginia.
Hope Springs from Field volunteers registered 9,748 voters at their door, and, with our ongoing efforts to ensure voters have the necessary photo identification, we helped 6,091 voters get their free Voter Photo ID cards through their local Elections Office!
Volunteers talked to 413,813 voters and 262,437 of them answered questions in the Issues Survey with which we walk every weekend. The valuable data we obtain by asking voters what issues are important to them and how they feel about their elected officials all got entered into VAN (the Democratic database/voter file) available to all Democrats who use VAN in those states. We could not do this without your support!
We collected 18,824 Constituent Service Request forms from voters at their doors (some of our volunteers have been “taking these home” and collecting additional requests from their friends and neighbors — we don’t include these in that number). We send completed CSRs to Democratic elected officials responsible for the requested functions, but if the appropriate office is held by a Republican, we still send it along. For Democrats, though, we encourage them to reach out immediately to the voter who filled out the Constituent Service Request forms and let them know they are working on the issue. This credit-taking is enormously valuable to the Democratic office-holder.
Hope Springs from Field PAC has been knocking on doors in a grassroots-led effort to prepare the Electoral Battleground in what has been called the First Round of a traditional Five Round Canvass. We are taking those efforts to the doors of the communities most effected (the intended targets or victims) of these new voter suppression laws.
Obviously, we rely on grassroots support, so if you support field/grassroots organizing, voter registration (and follow-up) and our efforts to protect our voters, we would certainly appreciate your support:

Hope Springs from Field PAC understands that repeated face to face interactions are critical. And we are among those who believe that Democrats didn’t do as well in the 2020 Congressional races as expected because we didn’t knock on doors — and we didn’t register new voters (while Republicans dud). We are returning to the old school basics: repeated contacts, repeated efforts to remind them of protocols, meeting them were they are. Mentoring those who need it (like first time and newly registered voters). Reminding, reminding, reminding, and then chasing down those voters whose ballots need to be cured.
If you are able to support our efforts to protect Democratic voters, especially in minority communities, expand the electorate, and believe in grassroots efforts to increase voter participation and election protection, please help:
