ABC News has just reported that the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld most of the gag order issued by Judge Tanya Chutkan.
"The Order is also affirmed to...prohibits all parties and their counsel from making...public statements about -- (1) counsel in the case other than the Special Counsel, (2) members of the court's staff...the family members of any counsel or staff member -- if those statements are made with the intent to materially interfere with, or to cause others to materially interfere with, counsel's or staff's work in this criminal case...the order said.
In less then a month the Orange Piece of Sh*t has been told to stop threating everyone (except Special Prosecutor Jack Smith) connected to the trial under pain of being charged with contempt. And they are fraking serious about it.
"Mr. Trump is a former President...But Mr. Trump is also an indicted criminal defendant, and he must stand trial in a courtroom under the same procedures that govern all other criminal defendants.
T***p could appeal to the full Circuit. GLWTS. He could also appeal to the Supremes. I’m less sure about that. The 6 Justices Operatives have a vested interest in protecting the Conman, but they could swing in either direction. They have their own problems to deal with, and siding with a known criminal complicates things.
I’ve pretty much given up on “Loose” Cannon scheduling a trial before the ‘24 elections, and even though the Georgia AG is looking toward an August trial next year it appears the Judge assigned to the case has other ideas. But apparently the DC Court's are making a serious dent in the T***pian strategy of delay, delay, delay.
The appeals court...signaled that they will be resistant to Trump's efforts to delay his trial, writing that "Delaying the trial date until after the election...would be counterproductive...and unreasonably burden the judicial process."
We shall see. Or as Doc Maddow would say: “Watch this space.”
