A Carol
I wish you the serenity found
in the music of “Silent Night”
and the exuberant joy
of “Deck the halls…”.
Let the haunting beauty of
“In the Bleak Midwinter”
lift your soul.
May the grandeur of “O Holy Night”
fill your season
and the nostalgia of
“Chestnuts roasting over an open fire”
open your memories of joyful times.
But, most of all, my sweet family
and beloved friends,
I wish “Peace on Earth Good Will to Men”
would last a little longer
than a few days in December.
