My "Ugly Christmas Sweater" [1]

I love my “Christmas” sweater. I bought it during a post-holidays sale at the supermarket a few years ago. I love it for what it is, a happy, smiling greeting for everybody who sees and notices it. Now that I wear a mask when I’m out and about, this sweater does the happy face greeting for me. It is non-partisan, non-religious, not obscene or derogatory (have you seen some of the offerings available online?) and does not have a one-liner that instantly becomes stale after the initial reading. It’s a little beacon of light.
Between Thanksgiving and the New Year, I wear it whenever I’m out shopping, at the doctor’s, the dentist, casual visits with family and friends, wherever. It’s usually good for at least one smile back and an “I like your sweater.” If somebody thinks, “Look at that crazy senior citizen not acting their age,” well, I would totally agree.
Therefore, whatever and however you celebrate over the next month or so, Happy, Smiley-Faced Greetings to you all.
