The Underappreciated Genius of Donald Trump (VIDEO) [1]

We hear plenty about how stupid Donald Trump is. We got word some years ago that Trump’s Secretary of State Tillerson had called Trump an “f-ing moron,” and we heard much the same eventually from his Chief of Staff and even his corrupt Attorney General. (Just last night, Lawrence O’Donnell, derided Trump for his utter stupidity.) Stupid Trump is, as well as ignorant and out of touch with important parts of reality.
But he’s also a genius. His intelligence is extraordinary in how completely he runs the spectrum from stupid to genius.
A great many people want to become President of the United States. Trump actually managed to win the prize— jumping into the political arena, hijacking a dominant part of the Republican base, parlaying that fervent support into the means to dominate the Republican Party in ways that politically adept Presidents of earlier times never even attempted: intimidating the Republican Senate into acquitting him in two impeachments, despite Trump’s being a more impeachable President than we Americans could previously have imagined.
Many people crave attention, but Trump has managed to get more attention focused on him than any human being in the history of the world.
How did he pull off such an extraordinary accomplishments?
I don’t understand Trump’s genius very well, but the fact of his genius is inescapable given how visible are its effects.
In the video on these matters, I suggest that it is important for us to understand more how this genius pulled off this extraordinary power grab, exploiting weaknesses in the American body politic, so effectively than he has made himself the greatest threat to the survival of American democracy in American history (in ways more fundamental even that the Civil War generated by the national crisis over slavery).
