Morning Open Thread - Long ago and not so far away [1]

November 30th, 1980 was a Tuesday. That night I was sitting naked in front of a room full of people and getting paid very well to do so. My 24 year old body was honed from my time in the military and kept sharp from 8 hour days of driving a truck and delivering furniture. I was a good subject for Duke University’s Art department to use as a live model.
Let me add that I never woke in a panic from “that dream where you are naked in a classroom”.
Three days later (December 3rd, 1980) my son was born. He doesn’t know all the stories of those long past days. But, I believe Nat King Cole knew what thrills and heartaches were like then. I am offering songs from that great master of music today.
