I am thankful for a very nice Thanksgiving with family and friends. Excellent company, wonderful food, great weather, and few nice excursions in the Portland metro area. I watched a lot less news, other than updates on the Hamas hostage releases and the Israeli release of Palestinian prisoners. While family health matters have put a crimp on my free time, I’ll forge ahead with a slightly slimmer GNR than planned. But I had to include my usual quotes on hope & optimism- because I promised earlier that I would. So without further adeiu, away we go.

I’ve seen a lot of angst and fear on DK from Kossacks who are extremely to very or somewhat worried about former President Donald Trump regaining his place as leader/ruler of the Western World. Perhaps my confidence in Biden is misplaced. I am not complacent, nor do I think the Republican Party is not a threat to American democracy. I think they are indeed a very serious threat to what we had once considered the normal functioning of government in the USA.

We will do it again in 2024. Thank a Gen Z. ** Above from X (Twitter) Note also that in the 2022 elections, about 63% of the Youth Voters in that election registered as Dems, which is an enormous shift in party identification. For example, compared to the 2020 election research from the Pew Research center, 49% of the voters “identify as/lean toward Democratic”, while 44% “identify as/lean toward Republican.” Looked at more specifically, in that 2020 election voters identified as Independents ----- -34% Democratic --------— 33% Republican --------— 29%
